A time and place for everything and indeed this one has come at a time just when the calm before the storm erupts for new Soca music for Trinidad's Carnival 2014. However, this is not the typical Soca song produced to incite mischievous behaviour or to make you want to jam on somebody. This is music with a message but the message is on the front lines of good versus evil.
This is Gospel Soca but then again it is not just any kind of Gospel Soca! This artist has the energy and came with a song that will certainly appeal to the youth. In a time when we have given up hope that the youth is lost here comes J Prince with a song that has the appeal to incite the youth but he does it with a Gospel song done with a fast pace that could very certainly fall in the Power Soca category.
This is indeed an interesting song not only because of the message he delivers but because of the medium he chose to deliver the message. Give thanks and praises to this artist. I love the music, I am enthused by the message in the music and I am please and very satisfied with his singing talent.
Certainly this song gets a vote of confidence that it will do great things if the radio stations take this one and push if for the youth to hear. This one is worthy of airplay. The lyrical content is up there and the singing talent is 'up there' and no one should skip a beat when you see the stenciled on an album jacket the name 'Madmen Productions'.
Take a listen to the song... watch the video and take a good look at the actions of the young people in the video and right there you can see... 'there is hope'! We can still save this generation... let it happen - push this song!
